Welcome to my blog

My name is Divya (it means divine!)

I’m the blogger behind The Merrygold Project where I share my love for creating beautiful handmade cards, DIY photo gifts, printables & Canva templates.

❤ You’re in the right place if:

  • you are looking for unique greeting card ideas or inspiration for gifts to celebrate a special occasion with someone you love.
  • you are a creative person who wants to create a homemade card or DIY gift but don’t know how to.
  • you want to create a memorable handmade card or gift for a loved one but want a quick & easy way to do so – preferably with templates!

❤ Why I want you to experience the magic of The Merrygold Project

There was a time in my life when I used to think that pretty things could only be bought in expensive stores. But as my passion for art grew, I realized that I too can create that beauty all on my own! And the best part was that I could also spread this beauty all around me – sprinkle it around like fairy dust!

Creating these handmade & homemade DIY cards & gifts brought me so much joy, but they could also be used to spread my love to those I loved! Each little handmade card, every tiny homemade gift held the magic of a memory made – to be cherished for years to come.

Don’t you agree?

Your mom might not remember the pretty dress you gave her for her last birthday, but she’ll still remember that homemade card you made her when you were 6 years old! Your boyfriend may have forgotten about the t-shirt you bought for him last year, but he’ll always remember that handwritten letter you gave him on your first Valentine’s Day together. Sounds familiar right? That’s the magic of handmade gifts – they are memorable, portray your love in the best possible way and better still, they’re fun to make!

From DIY anniversary gift ideas to homemade valentines love cards – I’ll show you how you too can capture your most treasured memories with your loved ones, in the most creative & memorable ways!

❤ What does the name of my blog mean?

I love the Japanese concepts of ‘Wabi-Sabi’ which looks at the beauty in imperfection & ‘Kintsugi’ which is the art of repairing broken pottery pieces with gold. At a low point in my life, they reminded me that we’re all broken, but if we try to heal ourselves with the ‘gold’ in our lives, then we’re going to come out stronger and better than ever before. For me, that ‘gold’ was in making time for the things I loved and so I decided to name my shop ‘The Merrygold Project’
